Stories
A story is a card: a piece of work with a type, priority, status, assignee and due date.
Creating a story
Click Add Story on the board and fill in:
- Story Title (required) and Description. Descriptions are plain text; line breaks are kept.
- Dependencies. Type a story number or title to add stories that must be finished before this one.
- Attachments. Click or drag files in, up to 5 files of 10 MB each.
- Details. Type (Coding, Bug, Research, Design, Documentation, DevOps or Testing), Priority (Low, Medium, High or Critical), Status (Backlog, In Progress, Review or Done), Assignee, Due Date and, when the project has epics, the Epic it belongs to.
- Mark as Epic turns this story into an epic that groups other stories. Tick it when creating an epic, including from the New Epic button.
Click Create Story. Attachments upload one by one and the story opens when done.
The story page
The header shows the type, priority and status badges, the title and an Edit button.
Left: the description, the Tasks checklist, Stories in this Epic (on an epic), an Images gallery when image attachments exist, and the Comments.
Right:
- Details. Click Assigned To to change the assignee; the change saves at once. Created By links to that person's profile. Epic, Due Date (red when past) and Created.
- Dependencies. Depends On lists what this story waits for, each removable with its cross. Blocking lists stories waiting on this one. Add dependencies through Edit.
- Attachments. Upload File, or drag files anywhere onto the page. Each file shows its size, who uploaded it and when, with View for images and text files, Download, and Delete for the uploader or an admin. The accepted types and size limit shown here come from the admin's File Types settings.
Editing and deleting
Edit opens the full form: title, description, type, priority, status, assignee, due date, epic, Mark as Epic and dependencies. Save Changes applies them; changing the status also moves the card to the matching lane, and changing the assignee emails the new assignee if they have that notification on. Delete Story at the bottom is permanent.
