Notification channels
Alerts are sent by email. A channel is a named list of email addresses, such as your on-call team or a client's contact, and notification rules decide which channels hear about what.
Your starting setup. A new Mage Watcher account comes with a channel called Account owner, set to the email address on your order, and two rules for all monitors: Site down (also emailing when the site is back up) and SSL certificate expiring. You can change or delete them like any others.
The channel list shows each channel's name, its addresses, how many rules use it, and disabled if it is switched off. An address that is not valid is flagged as invalid address, not emailed. Click Edit to change a channel.
Adding a channel. Click Add channel and fill in:
- Name. Required.
- Recipient email(s). One per line, or separated by commas. Up to 20 addresses. Duplicates are removed, and an invalid address is named so you can correct it.
- Enabled. On by default. A disabled channel receives nothing.
Click Create channel, or Save changes when editing.
Deleting a channel. Delete channel on its edit page deletes the channel and every notification rule that uses it, after you confirm.
