My Domains
My Domains lists every domain in the account, purchased through Press Mage or connected from elsewhere, with its status, source, assigned service, SSL state and renewal date. The stats bar at the top counts total, assigned, unassigned, needing attention and expiring soon.
Registering a domain
- Click Register Domain, enter the name and click Check. The price is shown when the domain is available; the Available Extensions list shows other endings and their yearly prices.
- Choose the Registration Term (1 to 10 years) and, optionally, the service to assign the domain to.
- Fill in the Registrant Contact details. They must be accurate and belong to the domain's legal owner.
- Click Proceed to Checkout and pay through Stripe.
The Domain Order page then shows Registering…, refreshing itself until it reads Domain Registered! with a Manage Domain button. If registration fails, the page explains why; your payment is not captured.
Managing a domain
Click Manage (purchased domains) or View (connected domains).
- Overview. Type, source, registrar, expiry, auto-renew, who manages DNS, verification and last sync. Purchased domains offer Sync from Namecheap to refresh registrar details.
- DNS Records. The current records with their owner. Apply Managed DNS pushes Press Mage's records for a purchased domain; Full DNS View opens the editor. When a domain is assigned but not yet verified, Check DNS Now re-runs verification.
- SSL / HTTPS. Whether a certificate is active, being issued, or waiting on DNS verification and assignment.
- Service Assignment. Assign the domain to a service (optionally as its primary domain) or Release from Service.
- Purchase Info on purchased domains.
- Domain Settings on purchased domains: Auto-Renew, WHOIS Privacy and Transfer Lock, then Save Settings.
- Registrant Contact on purchased domains: Refresh from the registrar, or Edit the details and Save Contacts, optionally applying them to all contact types.
- Nameservers on purchased domains: Change to enter two to twelve custom nameservers and Apply Nameservers, or Reset to Namecheap Default DNS. Custom nameservers switch off Press Mage's managed DNS for that domain and can take 24 to 48 hours to propagate.
- Activity. A dated history of what happened to the domain.
The DNS view
Lists every record with type, name, value, TTL, ownership and status. Records marked Custom or Registrar can be deleted; Protected and Managed ones cannot. On purchased domains, Add Custom Record creates A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, NS or CAA records, pushed to the registrar within a few minutes. Manual DNS Setup shows the records to add if your DNS lives elsewhere, followed by Verify DNS.
