Signing in and securing your account
Two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication is required on every Press Mage account. The first time you sign in you are asked to set it up:
- On Secure your account, scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password. If you cannot scan it, enter the key shown below the code by hand.
- Type the 6-digit code from the app and click Confirm & Continue.
- On Save your recovery codes, copy the codes somewhere safe. They are shown only once, and each works a single time. Click I've saved them — continue.
On later sign-ins you land on Verify it's you. Enter the current 6-digit code and click Verify. Tick Don't ask again on this device for 30 days on a device you trust. If you have lost your authenticator, enter one of your recovery codes instead; the page tells you how many you have left. If none are left, contact support.
Trusted devices can be reviewed and removed from your Profile.
Accepting an invitation
If someone has invited you to help manage their account, the emailed link opens You're Invited! and explains what you will be able to do as an admin: manage sites, apps and projects, add yourself as a WordPress admin or app user, act as point of contact on projects, and view and place orders. Click Accept Invitation. You are signed in to that account straight away.
