Brands

A brand is one business, product line or client you post for. Each brand has its own knowledge, calendar, social connections and posting schedule. How many brands you can have depends on your plan.

Creating a brand

There are two ways, both on the Brands page (Manage Brands in the Admin group).

Create brand from website. Click Create brand from website, enter the brand's Website domain (for example example.com) and click Read site & draft. Mage AI reads the site and drafts the brand's profile, voice, colours, logo, products, audiences and content pillars, then opens it for you to review and choose what to keep. It uses AI Credits and usually takes about a minute. While it works, the brand shows Drafting from website…; if it stops, it shows Draft did not finish, where you can try again or remove the draft brand.

New Brand. Fill in the form and click Create Brand:

  • Brand name (required), Tagline, Website URL and Industry.
  • Time zone. The calendar and scheduling use it.
  • Division (optional). See below.
  • Content priority. How much Mage Planner should favour this brand: Low, Normal, High or Campaign.

The Brands page

Each brand is listed with its division and tagline or website. Active workspace marks the brand you are working on. Use switches to a brand, Profile opens its Brand Profile and Edit opens its settings.

Edit has the same fields as New Brand, plus:

  • Require approval before publishing. When on, a post only publishes once a reviewer has approved it, and editing an approved post's content sends it back for review. Turning this on stops unapproved scheduled posts from publishing.
  • Active. Untick to set a brand aside.

Divisions

Divisions are optional groups of brands, such as "Small Business Core" and "Travel". Mage Planner can filter by division. At the bottom of the Brands page, type a name and click Add division. Rename and Remove manage existing ones; removing a division keeps its brands. Then choose the division on each brand's Edit page.
