Mage X Post Tokens
Publishing to X needs Mage X Post Tokens, an add-on bought separately in the Press Mage portal. No plan includes them, they never pay for AI, and other platforms never use them.
How tokens are used
- A post is charged only when X publishes it, at the rate in effect then.
- A post containing a link costs more, because X charges more for it.
- While an X post is being sent, its tokens are held, then charged when it publishes.
The X variant card shows how many tokens that post will use, updating as you type.
Buying and checking tokens
AI Credits → Mage X Post Tokens shows your Available tokens, those Held for posts being sent, the cost Per X post (standard and with a link), and a history of purchases and posts. Buy Mage X Post Tokens opens the add-on page in your Press Mage portal. The Mage Engage service card in the portal also shows your balance and packs bought.
Purchased tokens are delivered to Mage Engage automatically, usually within the hour. Tokens are not refundable.
Running out
If there are not enough tokens, the X variant fails with Mage X Post Tokens needed, and the account owner and the post's author are notified. Once you buy more, X posts that failed only for lack of tokens and were due less than a day ago are sent again automatically. Older ones wait for you to click Retry, so stale posts are not published late.
