Scheduling and publishing
When a scheduled post is due, Mage Engage publishes each of its platform variants to its destination. Only Publishers, Administrators and the Owner can schedule and publish.
Scheduling
There are several ways to put a post on the schedule:
- Schedule in the Workflow panel. If the post's planned time is still ahead, one click schedules it. If it has no time, or the time has passed, a dialog asks you to Pick a time or take the Next available slot.
- Status: Scheduled with a time on the master content form.
- Dragging a post on the calendar to a new time.
A post can be scheduled when it is approved, or when it is a draft or idea and the brand does not require approval.
Next available slot takes the earliest free slot in the brand's posting schedule when you save. If someone takes it first, you get the next one. If every slot in the next eight weeks is taken, you are asked to add slots.
Before scheduling, links in the post are checked. If one doesn't work, you can fix it or choose Schedule anyway. How many posts you can schedule each month depends on your plan.
Platform times
By default every variant follows the master schedule. Give a variant an Own publish time to send it at a different time; it then appears as its own entry on the calendar.
Publish now
Publish now sends the post's pending and failed variants straight away. You are asked to confirm, because published posts cannot be recalled from Mage Engage. If the brand requires approval, the post must be approved first.
After publishing
Each variant shows Published with the time, the account it was posted as, and View on … linking to the live post. A variant's Publishing attempts list shows every try and what the platform answered.
A post is Published when every platform is done, or Partially Published when some platforms posted and others did not.
Cancelling a platform
Cancel … on a pending or failed variant stops that platform from publishing. The other platforms are not affected.
