Mage Planner

Mage Planner looks at the brand's products, pillars, campaigns, blogs and what it actually published, then proposes a balanced plan of what to post, where and when. You review and change the plan before any content is written. Planning uses a little AI Credit; writing the content is a separate step.

Open Mage Planner in the sidebar. Plans belong to the active brand.

Creating a plan

Click New plan.

Create with Mage AI. Say what the plan should achieve, for example "Push Microsoft 365 management to small businesses and get two blog articles out". Choose a Period: 30 days, 14 days, 7 days or AI decide. Click Create with Mage AI. The plan page then shows How Mage AI read your request: the platforms, blogs, rhythm and topics it chose. If your request sounds like a campaign, it suggests the Campaign Builder instead.

Or set it up yourself:

  • Period (30, 14 or 7 days, or Custom with start and end dates) and an optional Name.
  • Destinations. Social destinations, and the brand's Blogs with their articles per month.
  • Rhythm. Social posts per week, a posting window (Post between two times, in the brand's time zone) and the Days to post. Blog articles follow each blog's own schedule.
  • Priorities and exclusions: Honour active campaigns, Propose social posts derived from planned articles, Topics to emphasise, Topics to leave out, and anything else the planner should know.

Click Create plan. Planning runs in the background and the page refreshes itself.

Reviewing a plan

Each planned item shows its time, destination, format, title and concept, any warnings (for example repetition), its status and a Why was this planned? explanation. Switch between List and Calendar, and filter by destination, content type, status, pillar, product and campaign. In the calendar, drag an item to move it; its content is not rewritten.

Click an item to Edit it: destination, time, format, title and concept, plus an article plan (target keyword, length, search intent, outline and featured image concept) for articles. New idea asks Mage AI for a different item in its place. Add item adds your own. Remove from plan takes one out.

Bulk actions

Tick items (or Select all), choose an action under With selected and click Apply:

  • Approve or Reject.
  • Write content… Shows how many social posts and articles will be written, the estimated AI Credits against your balance, and any derived posts that must wait for their article. Click Write … item(s) to start.
  • Move dates by a number of days, earlier or later.
  • Change priority.
  • Delete. Content already written is kept.

Social posts are written as Drafts at their planned time and platform, and appear on the calendar. Articles are written as draft articles (see Articles).

Changing the plan

  • Adjust settings (or Adjust settings and re-plan) changes the settings and re-plans. Approved, written and hand-made items are kept.
  • Regenerate… re-plans a date range, or the whole plan if you leave the dates empty.
  • Create Campaign for Plan has Mage AI write a Draft campaign from the plan and assign it to the plan, its items and its unpublished posts and articles. Published posts keep their campaign. Once a plan has a campaign, View campaign opens it and new items join it.

Plan status

A plan is Planning…, Ready, Needs attention or Draft. Items are Planned, Approved, Rejected, Writing…, Content written or Writing failed; once content exists, an item shows its post's or article's status instead.
